Mpox Quick Facts

  • Mpox is a rash illness, caused by the Mpox virus
  • Not considered an STD; however, is spread through sexual contact (oral, anal, or vaginal sex)
  • Everyone is at risk for Mpox; (MSM have shown an increase of diagnosis)
  • Other Routes of Transmission
    • Spread by close contact including direct skin to skin contact with the mpox rash, sores, or scabs
    • Contact with objects have been used by someone with mpox (surfaces, clothes, linen)
    • Exposure to respiratory droplets or oral fluids
  • Mpox Prevention
    • Avoid close skin to skin contact with items or persons that have been exposed o 
    • Sustain from all sexual acts until blisters have completely healed
    • Wash hands regularly
    • GET THE MPOX VACCINE!

Mpox Vaccination Info

  • Offered at FCDPH
  • Walk-in Mpox Vaccines are available Monday-Friday
    • Monday-Wednesday; 8:00am-4:30pm
    • Thursday; 9:00am-7:30pm
    • Friday; 8:00am-12:00pm
  • *Clinic is closed for lunch Monday-Thursday 12:00pm-1:00pm
  • Need two doses (administered 28 days apart). Not fully vaccinated/covered until 2nd dose is released.
