Particle pollution remains elevated and code YELLOW, Wednesday, as a stagnant air mass continues over the region. Ozone will end the day along the GREEN/YELLOW border. Numerous showers and thunderstorms will develop later Wednesday, helping to cleanse the atmosphere, somewhat, by Thursday. While ozone will likely return to the code GREEN category, particle pollution may still linger in the lower YELLOW range, Thursday. Another round of late day storms, Thursday, may be enough to drop particle pollution back to code GREEN joining ozone, Friday. The unsettled weather pattern will persist into Saturday, as well, leading to a continuation of GOOD air quality to start the weekend (GENTRY).
