On 11/27/2025 Cpl. McPherson, Officer Harper, and Officer Hedgepeth observed that an inmate had not eaten in several days. He had several food trays in his cell that had not been consumed. This inmate was also elderly. They brought their concerns to their Zone Supervisor's attention. Medical staff were then called to his cell to check his vital signs. The inmate was transported to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center and was admitted shortly afterwards. Due to the officer's vigilance, the inmate was provided the care that he needed.

We are proud to recognize Officer L. Hargrove for his outstanding performance and dedication to the Classification Department at the Forsyth County Detention Center. Officer Hargrove is a dedicated professional. He was assigned as the Classification Case Manager for 8 South (Special Housing Unit). 8 South is a very demanding and dynamic area that requires the highest level of attentiveness. He met this challenge head-on, managing this area proficiently and professionally. Officer Hargrove took on an even more challenging assignment as the Classification Case Manager for 8 North and 10 South General Population Housing Units, where he manages the day-to-day operation and case management for the inmate population. He is a member of the Special Response Team, which provides him with further opportunities to broaden his knowledge and skill set. His work ethic shines through as he tackles a variety of tasks, often staying past his duty hours to ensure that all responsibilities are met and to support the security teams. Officer Hargrove has proven himself to be a true team player, and we are incredibly fortunate to have him in our agency. We appreciate your dedication to the agency, and we congratulate you on a job well done, Officer Hargrove.

Officer D. Maxey comes to work each day with the same demeanor and attitude, which helps boost the morale of her coworkers. Officer Maxey has shown she can work any post she gets assigned to and never complains. Officer Maxey has stepped into the role of training new hires during November, when we don’t have a Field Training Officer available to assign them. She has expressed interest in becoming a Field Training Officer in the near future. Her willingness to take on any task she is given and her amazing attitude each day are why we are acknowledging her as Staff Member of the Month.
